This dour economy has me reevaluating the way I spend my money.
Anything that's not food, water, or Red Bull has to be assessed and either accepted or denied.
Which made me question if I could still afford my crazy hair dying salon trips.
They're quite expensive. When I go the cheap route and leave my mid-blonde un-touched up, it costs me a healthy $247.99. Because I always tip 20 percent, that's a grand total that's just under $300.
And I repeat this process every two months.
So, calculate the yearly expenses and we're looking at quite a bit of money spent... on hair.
It's really hard for me to let this kind of luxury go, even though it's so pricey. To justify the expense, (I just have to explain myself here) I love my salon, my hairstylist and I'm getting my hair cut, styled and colored... in the best salon EVER, so it's worth it to me. Or it was.
So, it costs me about $1785.52 a year for my hair cuts slash colors, to throw out a number.
That's a lot of money that I could be spending on necessities instead of this singular luxury. I could:
--Pay my car insurance policy off for the year. Plus there'd be enough left over for a yearly AAA membership, the gold one, with unlimited towings a year (like anyone needs that many towings).
--It could pay my grocery bills for the year (I don't eat a lot so $150 a month is good for me).
--It could buy me a reaaaaaaaaaally nice year-end vacation to Vegas, with air fare, hotel and plenty of gamblin' money to throw down on felt-topped tables.
--It could pay my gas bill for the year, I spend about $30 a week on gas, so.
