New Jersey's latest controversial tax -- on water

Yes that's right. A tax on water.

Preposterous you say? Not according to Sen. Bob Smith, who's proposing that NJ voters consider his proposal (an amendment rather) to tax water.

More specifically; when you make ice, shower, do dishes, wash clothes, sprinkle your lawn, wash your car-- New Jersey wants to get paid.

They want 40 cents for every 1,000 gallons of water.

It's not enough that New Jersey taxes your goods, services, property, wages... somehow our state is still flat broke. But that won't stop them from thinking up new ways to get your money.

After toilet paper, they've run out of things to tax. So, naturally, water is next. After that, then what's left?

Air?

You bet.
