So here is your daily news dose (along with my completely biased interpretations).
ATLANTIC CITY — To conquer his fear of heights, "Good Morning America'' host Chris Cuomo jumped from the roof of an Atlantic City casino this morning.
[After hearing his story, I was inspired to face my own fears head on. That means, that I will conquer my fear of spiders by eating them, so start looking in cobwebby corners for arachnids. I plan on making a spider sandwich for lunch. You should consider attempting to confront your fear of midgets, by playing catch with one at the Ocean County Park (Don't worry, despite popular belief, they don't bite) .]
Also, the body of a squirrel was found this morning at the intersection of routes 70 and 88. Animal control officers say the squirrel sustained mortal injuries most likely caused by a hit-and-run driver. The squirrel was pronounced dead at the scene, animal control officers say he most likely died upon impact, sometime around midnight last night. They are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to contact local animal control authorities with information.]
Officer Jeffrey Malone was on patrol when he spotted a motorist drive through a red light on Route 35 south at the Deal Road intersection, police said.
Malone followed the 2003 Green Ford Explorer and tried to pull the driver over near Middlebrook Plaza on Route 35, said Detective Lt. Steven R. Peters.
The motorist abruptly pulled onto the shoulder of the road, then continued to drive slowly as Malone followed, police said.
Then suddenly, as the SUV was still traveling forward, the driver and front seat passenger opened their doors and jumped out of the moving vehicle, said Peters.
They ran away and the unmanned SUV continued to roll down the highway, still in gear.
